Motion Twin has carved out a great reputation with Dead CellsA metroidvania rogue-lite which has been a hit since 2017 on computers, consoles and mobiles. But the title is now abandoned and the reputation of Motion Twin was scratched by a former developer. Regardless, the French studio has been working on its next game for a while now, Windblown.
Motion Twin revealed this week a new Windblow trailer, with gameplay. The title will be an action game rogue-lite playable solo and cooperatively, with mechanics focused on movement across flying islands. The goal will be to destroy Sentinelscreatures from the Vortex and threatening our home. For this, we will have access to many weapons and dashTHE gameplay promises to be dynamicwhile the artistic direction is eye-catching.
- Quickly juggle between the two available weapons, with the simple press of a button, and unleash the secret power of each of them: to launch the devastating Altattack of a weapon, and do maximum damage, you need use another one during clashes. The combinations and tactical possibilities are numerous. You are strongly encouraged to vary your approaches and experiment throughout your adventures! In case of defeat, you return to your celestial home to prepare for your next trip.
- Crystallized attacks are powerful finishers that recharge your energy and increase your rewards. Don’t hesitate to abuse it to overcome adversity, and thus greatly improve your chances of surviving in the Vortex. These attacks become even more powerful when synced with other players in co-op.
- Once collected, Trinkets are used to interact with the environment with explosive bombs, ice novas or poison clouds, among others.
- Gifts offer passive bonuses to improve your playstyle, such as additional arrows that hit the enemy with each hit, double Alterattacks allowing you to chain executions or bonuses that heal you when an enemy dies .
- Finally, the Fish is available to provide support against the Sentinels. The Gobbler Fish can bounce in a straight line and swallow an enemy in its path, allowing you to attack the impudent with complete peace of mind (in addition to offering additional loot). The Fish suffers from a long cooldown between each use: work together with your allies to optimize its use as part of a cooperative session!
