Microsoft has released updates for Windows 10 and Windows 11 that solve numerous problems. But there are also indications of new errors.

KB5012599 causes problems in Windows 10
Update KB5012599, released on April 12, 2022 for Windows 10 Version 20H2, 21H1 and 21H2, causes problems for some users. Error messages with the designations 0x800F0831 and 0x8024200B appear, whereupon the installation of the patch aborts, as reported by borncity. You can find reports of the issues on Reddit here and on the Windows forum this is the place to do it.
According to Betanews, Microsoft has not yet confirmed the problems. There is no official workaround yet.
KB5011831: Windows 10 crash issue fixed
With KB5011831, Microsoft has provided a patch for Windows 10 Version 20H2 and Version 21H1 and Version 21H2 that is intended to eliminate a cause of a Windows crash. You can read more about this here at Microsoft. You install the update via the Windows update function in the Windows 10 settings under “Optional updates”. Alternatively, you can also obtain the update from the Microsoft update catalog here.
KB5012643: Preview bug fixes for Windows 11
With KB5012643, Microsoft has released a preview of an important update for Windows 11. You can get it via Windows Update or download it from the Microsoft Update Catalog here. Microsoft will regularly deliver KB5012643 to all Windows 11 computers on patch day in May 2022.
The update fixes minor problems with Windows 11, for example with video subtitles. It also brings improvements for the temperature display in the taskbar, for example.
KB5012636: Cumulative update preview resolves various issues with Windows 10
Microsoft has released the preview of an important cumulative repair patch for Windows 10 with KB5012636. Although KB5012636 does not contain any security-related patches, the update fixes problems with Windows Defender Application Control that can cause Windows to freeze. In addition, KB5012636 improves the Secure Boot function. KB5012636 should also solve problems with the remote desktop. Microsoft will release the final version of KB5012636 as part of patch day in May 2022. But interested users who suffer from the problems mentioned can already install KB5012636. However, the target group is more professional users, since Microsoft provides KB5012636 for these Windows 10 variants: Windows 10 Enterprise 2019 LTSC, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019, LTSC Windows 10 IoT Core 2019 LTSC and Windows Server 2019.
