File Explorer Windows 10 gets a welcome new option.

If Wi-Fi 7 will not be supported by Windows 10, this does not prevent the operating system from occasionally welcoming new features.

Did you think he was dead? Windows 10 keeps updating

On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will permanently stop supplying Windows 10 with updates. After 10 years of good and loyal service, the operating system will shut down once and for all. By then, Windows 12 will probably already be invited to some homes. Anyway, the predecessor of Windows 11 has not yet said its last word. Yes, against all odds, the latter has just received a new feature within its File Explorer.

Starting next fall, Windows 11 users will finally be able to enjoy a brand new File Explorer. This will also be deployed on the occasion of the publication of the big update 23H2. If Windows 10 customers will obviously not be able to take advantage of it, the Redmond firm has not forgotten them.

Windows 10 File Explorer welcomes a new button

Last April, Microsoft confirmed to us that 22H2 would be the last update of Windows 10. In other words, the operating system was no longer supposed to receive new features until the moment of its extinction. However, we recently discovered that the Windows Backup application suddenly appeared in Windows 10. Moreover, we now learn, through the site NeowinKB5029331 update adds a new button to quickly back up documents or pictures using OneDrive. Named “Start backup”, this allows you to ensure that your files and folders are always synchronized.

Despite its age, Windows 10 therefore continues to be up to date, to the delight of those who continue (and will continue) to use this version of the operating system. If Windows 11 still hasn’t convinced you, maybe Windows 12 will, who knows?
