Many Windows 10 and Windows 11 users are claiming on social media that Microsoft installed Spotify on their computer without their consent. If it is a deliberate act, it is very badly received by the community.
According to the Windows Latest site, the Spotify application would be automatically integrated into Windows 10 and Windows 11 when updating the operating system. Note that previously, a fresh installation of Windows 10 or 11 did not integrate Spotify. So no one knows if it’s a deliberate decision resulting from an agreement between Microsoft and the Swedish music streaming service or a simple mistake, but regardless, it does already dissatisfied.

In addition to being installed without the end users having asked anything, the app of Spotify launches automatically on startup. Not only will they not start using Spotify (if they were not registered on the platform), but in addition, some are planning to permanently switch to Linux. Microsoft can actually install and uninstall programs through the Windows Store and Windows Update. And if Microsoft intends to continue force-installing programs, you might as well know how to quickly uninstall them. To uninstall Spotify on Windows 10 and Windows 11, just press the Windows key and then type “Spotify”, which will bring up the app menu. The “Uninstall” option is at the very bottom.
