It’s been a few days now Windows 11 22H2 slowly began to invade our PCs. Announced as the first major update to the operating system from Microsoft, “Windows 11 2022”, its real name, has not yet integrated all the features announced.

Still a little bit of patience, the Redmond firm gives us an appointment next month to see some of the most anticipated features land in Windows 11.

Windows 11: when will the tabs within the file explorer?

After whole months spent discussing and imagining the potential new features of Windows 11, we are finally there: the 22H2 update has now been available to users for a few days. Do not hesitate to discover the good reasons to install it.

Despite significant additions in terms of productivity and aesthetics, it is clear that some features of Windows 11 are still missing. Among them, we find of course one of the most expected by the community, namely the tabs in the file explorer. It would indeed seem that the Redmond firm is not quite ready yet. She would currently be fixing the last bugs.

As a reminder, this long-awaited feature will offer Windows 11 customers the possibility of switching between their tabs within the file explorer with a single click, without the need to open a considerable number of windows. This should make it possible to significantly optimize navigation between files. Anyway, this feature should see the light of day very quickly, from October, alongside other new features…

More features coming to Windows 11 in October

Beyond the file explorer, Microsoft intends to spoil its users with new options. First, note that the “Photos” application will benefit from some changes and will offer better management of albums and galleries. The browsing experience will be considerably simplified, as will the backup and synchronization of your photos on OneDrive.

For their part, the “Suggested actions” will allow you to click on a date or a number and copy them to the clipboard, following which action suggestions will then be offered to you automatically. In addition, when your taskbar is full to bursting, a new menu will appear to offer you the possibility of displaying a list of currently open applications.

As we mentioned earlier this month, Microsoft will deploy Windows 11 Moment 1 and Moment 2 over the next few weeks. More specifically, these are updates to implement key features that could not be integrated into the September update. Thus, if Moment 2 will not be launched before 2023, Moment 1 will land on our PCs this month of October. As you will have understood, it is normally on this occasion that all the new features discussed today will arrive on Windows 11.
