Windows 11: Anti-Phishing Feature Detected

Windows 11 offers various security mechanisms and data protection settings ex works. But the Microsoft operating system should soon become even more secure. As Deskmodder reports, a new phishing protection can now be switched on in the current Insider build, which warns you about dangerous websites and apps that are targeting your data or that process sensitive information such as passwords insecurely.

Windows 11: Turn on phishing protection

According to Deskmodder, the new phishing protection is in the insider build in the system settings after clicks Windows security, App & browser control under Reliability-Based Protection to find. There you choose whether you want the feature to warn you about malicious websites and applications, about password reuse, and about insecure password storage. So far, there is no information about the exact functioning of the phishing protection. Presumably, the feature compares the pages accessed against a list of known phishing websites and uses other criteria to assess trustworthiness. It is unclear when the new phishing protection will be available for all users in Windows 11. What is clear, however, is that the new feature is only additional protection and may not prevent all phishing attacks. You should therefore continue to be on your guard in the future and take a close look at the pages on which you surf and enter data.
