There are things that come back regularly no matter what we do. The seasons, taxes, Windows 11 updates… These are also a monthly event since every second Tuesday of the month, Microsoft deploys what we have become accustomed to calling the Patch Tuesday, or Tuesday correction in the language of Molière. The principle is systematically the same: it contains a whole bunch of fixes to end certain bugs and removes a maximum of security failures.

We understand why it is better to install the update without waiting too long. For example, last month’s Patch Tuesday addressed 61 vulnerabilities, including two critical ones. It’s a little less for that of June 2024: 51 flaws including only one criticism. That doesn’t make it any less useful, especially when you see the list of bugs it addresses.

Patch Tuesday of June 2024 fixes many bugs and closes security vulnerabilities on Windows

We have retained the main bugs to which we can finally say goodbye after applying the update:

  • Your system cannot wake from hibernation. This issue occurs after enabling BitLocker.
  • File Explorer may take up to two minutes to start when you pin a folder on a network share to Quick Access. This specific issue is related to upgrading from Windows 11 version 21H2 to Windows 11 version 22H2.
  • Windows File Explorer becomes unresponsive when you swipe from one edge of the screen.
  • Malfunction related to your account profile image. When you try to modify it, you may get an error message with the code “0x80070520”.
  • Distortion of certain parts of the screen. This issue occurs when you use a Chromium-based browser to play a video (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, etc.).
  • Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) headsets do not display the connect or disconnect option.
