Microsoft is delivering the KB5008353 update for Windows 11, which, in addition to bug fixes, also integrates a new function into the operating system.

Microsoft has started shipping update KB5008353 to Windows 11 users. This also integrates new functions into Windows 11 (here in the large PC-WELT test). The cumulative update is almost 230 megabytes in size and currently has the addition “Preview”, the final version should follow on patch day in February 2022 in just under two weeks. It is available via Windows Update or here in the Microsoft Update Catalog for manual installation. Windows 11 build number increases to 22000.469 after successful update.

With KB5008353, more users are now allowed to use the update after Windows Insiders have been able to test the update for some time. A new entry is “Your Microsoft account” in the “Accounts” category in the settings of Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro. Another new feature is the “automatic brightness” function.
KB5008353 also includes numerous bug fixes
The KB5008353 update also fixes numerous bugs in Windows 11 and improves functions. Microsoft emphasizes that the update does not contain any security updates, only updates that lead to “quality improvements”. According to Microsoft, the most important changes are:
Updates an issue that causes the audio service to stop responding on some devices that support hardware accelerated and Bluetooth.
Updates an issue affecting app icons when the apps are not running. On the taskbar, these icons may appear as active as if the apps are running.
Updates an issue where the volume icon on the taskbar incorrectly shows as muted.
Updates an issue that causes a device to stop working when connected to multiple displays.
Updates an issue affecting the auto-hide taskbar feature. The taskbar may not appear reliably when hovering over the primary or secondary display.
Updates an issue that might prevent icons from appearing on the taskbar of a secondary display.
Adds the “HelpWith” feature, which uses Microsoft Bing technologies to recommend settings for help topics relevant to each page.
Updates an issue where stale battery percentages for connected Bluetooth were showing on the Bluetooth & other devices page in Settings.
Updates a known issue that may prevent some imaging programs from rendering colors correctly on certain high dynamic range (HDR) displays. This often affects white colors that may appear as light yellow or other colors.
