Microsoft wants to put the package on AI. After integrating a tool derived from ChatGPT into its Bing search engine, the Redmond firm wants to go even further linking it this time to its Windows 11 operating system.

Many new features concerning the OS have been presented by Microsoft, such as the addition of third-party Widgets, the improvement of visios or the arrival of iPhone compatibility in the Phone Link application. But one of them particularly caught the eye: the introduction of AI in the taskbar.

ChatGPT makes its way into Windows 11

Indeed, the AI derived from ChatGPT and already used in Bing will be included in the search window located in the taskbar. The principle is simple: allow a more natural search in your computer and on the web. If the user has a request, he only has to ask his question to the AI who will respond in a conversational tone. No need to open Edge and Bing to use it, since it will be available directly on your desktop.

This risks significantly impact the way we use our computer by making navigation more natural. Do you need something, specific information? Ask a question instead of performing a keyword search as has been done for years. It remains to be seen whether this AI will be a real game changer for the user. In any case, Microsoft is betting heavily on this technology, investing heavily in Open AI. The Redmond firm also plans to integrate AI into its Microsoft 365 suite to guide users.

All the novelties presented for Windows 11 should arrive on equipped PCs in the coming weeks, probably in March. For the moment, no precise date, but it will be necessary to watch very carefully for updates in Windows Update.
