Windows 11 just added a new feature for Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev channels. The latter will allowsend instant notifications to PC whenever a new photo or screenshot will be taken on Android device. By clicking on the notification, the user will be able to open the image in the Snipping Tool application on the PC, where they can crop, annotate or share it.

This new feature replaces another

This new feature replaces the Remote Capture feature introduced in September for Windows Insiders users using Phone Link version 1.23082.123.0 or newer. The remote capture feature allowed users to take photos or screenshots on their Android device from their PC.

To enable this feature, users need to go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Mobile Devices, select “Manage Devices” and allow their PC to connect to their Android smartphone. They also need to update the Cross Device Experience Host app from the Microsoft Store.

Another feature tested by Microsoft for Windows 11 is Microsoft Teams meeting integration in the Start menu. Users signed in to Windows 11 Pro or Enterprise with a Microsoft Entra ID account will be able to view and join their upcoming Teams meetings online directly from the Start menu, without opening the Teams app.

Microsoft is also adding support for the USB4 Version 2.0 specification to Windows 11, which will allow users to transfer data at speeds of up to 80 Gbps over USB Type-C cables. This will enable faster and more reliable connections between PCs and external devices, such as monitors, storage drives and docking stations.
