Windows 11 Moment 3: all the new features point by point

Seemingly rather shy in terms of new features, the Windows 11 Moment 3 update actually brings its share of changes.

Windows 11 is full of new features and does not forget accessibility

On Windows 11, the Redmond firm offers a live captioning system to help deaf and hard of hearing people better understand audio through automatic transcription. Since the release of Moment 3, it is now possible to take advantage of this feature in the following languages: Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Danish, Korean, Japanese, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish , French as well as other English dialects (Win + Ctrl + L to activate the option quickly). We mentioned it last month, the seconds have also made a comeback in the notification area of ​​the taskbar.

But they are not the only ones to land in the system tray, since Microsoft has also added an icon there informing you of the status of your VPN connection. For its part, two-factor authentication has been made simpler. Windows 11 customers now only have to copy a code directly from a notification window to save time. Note that the Vocal Access application’s help page has received some welcome changes, including the addition of descriptions for each command and a search field for quick access. The application also introduced new commands for selecting and editing text.

Moment 3: an update that also boosts performance

If you’ve recently tried to press the print screen key on your keyboard, you may have noticed that the Windows screen capture tool now runs by default. However, you can disable this option in the settings if you wish. Speaking of parameters, they also benefit from a more elaborate search bar than in the past.

What’s new in this update doesn’t stop there, as we also find new power saving options for laptops and 2-in-1s with adaptive brightness control.

With Moment 3, Microsoft also introduces a multi-application kiosk mode that allows administrators to limit certain Windows applications and features. This option can be particularly useful in the event that several users share the same device. A page for USB4 devices is now present, and a presence detection system has also appeared. This allows you to block (or allow) applications that can use your PC’s presence sensor.

Three new options have been integrated for managing virtual touch keyboard settings. These allow you to more precisely determine when the latter is supposed to appear. Finally, this Moment 3 update was an opportunity to improve the overall performance of Windows 11 by limiting application resources during startup and making File Explorer launch faster than in the past.
