Windows 11: More and more users are switching to the new version of Windows

Windows 11 has been out since 2021 and can be found on more and more PCs. The recently published first major function update gave the number of users another boost.

Microsoft released Windows 11 last fall and has been working on the new software version ever since. After about a year, a major update was released in September, which brought some innovations and improvements with it. This is also reflected in the number of users.

There is a statistic on the Statcounter website that shows the percentage of users using which version of Windows. Windows 10 has been the undisputed number 1 for several years, but with the new update Windows 11 has caught up a bit.

Windows 11 was the only Windows version to record a significant increase in users compared to the previous month, at two percent. According to Statcounter, 15.54 percent are currently using Windows 11, 71.49 percent are using Windows 10 and 9.36 percent are using Windows 7.

What is interesting is the still strong position of Windows 7. Support for this version ended in January 2020, but there still seems to be a large number of fans. However, the trend is strongly towards Windows 11.
