Google announces replacement for JPEG format
Who doesn’t know the JPEG, or JPG, format that has been used for decades on the Internet? Google wants to remedy this with a new format, JPEGLI. Its promise: quite simply to do like its big brother, but better, namely to compress as much as possible without impacting the rendering.
