A new function will soon be deployed on Windows 11 to allow the sharing of a Wi-Fi password using a simple QR code.

Microsoft is currently working on many small changes that would make everyday life on Windows 11 easier. With this idea, a new entry will be integrated into the Settings in order to isolate System Components from the rest of the applications. And for those who hate endless passwords, QR code technology should very soon help you communicate them much more easily.

Sharing passwords in the age of the QR Code

The latest build of Windows 11 which has just been deployed on the Redmond giant’s Canary channel could please all the lazy people in the world. Because among the different options that have recently been developed, one of them will allow you to share a Wi-Fi password using a simple QR code.

The Settings page associated with Wi-Fi networks will therefore change. “ Now, in addition to showing just the password, Windows 11 generates a QR code for the selected network, allowing you to connect a new device without having to select the network and type in its complicated password » is explained.

And the use of the QR code does not stop there. “ We also display a QR code when you set up a mobile hotspot to share your network connection » explains the company. Additionally, other small cosmetic changes have been added, such as a new animation that plays when connecting to a network, as you can see below.
