is available for download.
A number of fixes and innovations concern, among other things, Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Teams.
Many fixes on the menu…
The members of the Insider program know it well, many defects are gradually patched and innovations tested thanks to their actions and their feedback. The latest KB5010414 update is thus accessible to them via Windows Update, and it is rather substantial. On February 10, many fixes were made by Microsoft to its latest operating system, starting with a bug concerning the Windows Server 2016 OS. In the case of the use of a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI ), the operation could stop randomly, which is now fixed.
Moreover, various problems, such as a bug preventing the display of time zones due to lack of possession of administrator rights, have also been patched. Microsoft Edge has also had some issues that have now been resolved. More so, Windows Hello for Business Cloud Trust is now introduced. Single sign-on technology (SSO) and passwordless security key login (FIDO) are used. Key management infrastructure (PKI) is therefore no longer required for Cloud Trust, making it easier to deploy Windows and use Windows Hello for Business.
Microsoft Teams now takes advantage of the ability to directly share an open application window from the taskbar in a call. Always from the taskbar, you can now deactivate and then reactivate a call on Teams. This allows, in particular, to easily mute the microphone directly from the taskbar, without having to go to the Teams call window.
Finally, on the left side of the taskbar (when it’s center-aligned), new weather content is now available. When you hover over the left side of the taskbar, the weather widget appears, then disappears when you stop hovering over it. To be completely honest, Windows 11 seems to us to be a good evolution of Windows 10. Beyond the very marketing aspect linked to the surprise effect (Windows 10 was presented as the last of the last, remember) and to the mainly graphical redesign of the interface, the update brings a bit of clarity and modernity that are welcome after six years spent with an OS designed to reconcile Microsoft and its audience. We also like the discreet details that make it more functional, such as the improved snap and anchor groups, or even the refined management of virtual desktops. Finally, we are really convinced by the redesign of the Microsoft Store. By agreeing to return to the exclusivity reserved for UWPs, Microsoft is effectively hitting where it is not expected and finally compels itself to catch up on Apple and Google.
