With patch KB5020044, Microsoft has solved a performance problem in Windows 11 that particularly affected gamers. However, this introduces a new bug that is unpleasant for all users because it affects the task manager.

If you call the tool, elements and ads are displayed incorrectly and even illegible. According to the Redmond company, the task manager function is not affected. So as long as you know where the button you want to press is, you have no problem. The situation is more difficult for less experienced users.

Microsoft is aware of the bug. Computers that run with an individual color scheme for the user interface are particularly affected. As a detour, the Redmond company recommends on their company blog to simply set one of the two standard modes – light or dark mode.
