Windows Copilot is currently in the test phase, but the intelligent assistant should soon be deployed to the general public. But before that, Microsoft would like to know the opinion of the developers concerningany third-party plugins that can be used directly in the operating system. The company therefore sent out a questionnaire titled “Windows Copilot Plugins: Your Opinion Matters” to find out if developers will use or program such extensions.

According to Windows Latest, the idea behind Copilot is to centralize the use of Artificial Intelligence in Windows 11, “staying consistent across all apps, programs, and windows.” With Windows Copilot, novice users will no longer have to dive into the system settings to access an option or a setting: all you have to do is ask theAI accessible from the OS taskbar. The integration of plugins in Windows Copilot will open the system to the outside world.

Windows Copilot will integrate ChatGPT and Bing plugins

Thanks to the Bing and ChatGPT extensions, Internet users will be able to ask their PC to perform tasks as complex as booking a plane ticket or, for programmers, generating a snippet of code in Python to harvest the content of a web page, for example. With the same idea, Generative AI built into Windows 11 can, like ChatGPT, create or summarize the texts that we submit to it, or even generate images from a textual description.

We see it, the potential of Windows Copilot is enormous, so huge that it could eventually make browsers obsolete. At the rate at which Microsoft adds new features to its operating system, it is quite possible that we will benefit from this novelty in the coming months.
