Windows Defender soon available on all your devices
A few weeks ago, we were talking about the possibility that Windows Defender will soon get a facelift in order to benefit from a unified interface on all your devices. More specifically, we learned that the Redmond firm’s antivirus would soon take the form of a web application integrating many new features within it.
In this logic of wanting to provide its users with optimal security, Microsoft has announced the upcoming availability of a new version of Windows Defender, which will obviously work on PCs but also on your smartphones, whether they are under iOS or Android.
In test phase on PC and mobile
A few days ago a new version of Windows Defender entered the test phase, accessible to Windows Insiders. As mentioned, it now allows compatibility with your mobile devices and is available now for download, exclusively in the United States for the moment. Here is what Microsoft said about it:
“Windows Insiders can preview and download Microsoft Defender, a new Windows, Android and iOS app that helps protect you and your family’s data and devices from online threats. Microsoft Defender gives you the ability to view and manage your online safety in a central dashboard, across your devices and those of your family members. You also get additional protections against malware and phishing on your mobile devices. The ability to view your family’s devices is currently only available in the Windows app. Microsoft Defender Preview is available in English and US preview only.
As you will have understood, this application’s primary objective is to protect you and your loved ones against the various forms of online threats. By deploying its antivirus beyond the PC in this new version of the application, Microsoft allows centralization of your data by ensuring quick access to your dashboard wherever you are.
If for the moment no information has been communicated as to a possible availability in France, we will of course not fail to inform you as soon as this is the case. But the application is still in the test phase, only in the United States moreover, it could well still require a little time.
