Windows Update: Patch Tuesday deployed…
If you’re on the lookout for any updates to your operating system, then you’ve probably noticed that security-related updates appeared in Windows Update last week. The Redmond firm has indeed published, as usual, the famous monthly patch “Tuesday”. If you don’t know the tradition, every second Tuesday of the month, Microsoft releases an update for its software to ensure the highest level of security for its customers.
On the other hand, in this month of December, Windows 8, 10 and 11 will not receive optional updates, as has been clarified by the American company. And believe us, the reason will surprise you (or not).
…but no optional update in December
Due to the holiday season, the American giant has made the decision, exceptionally, to focus only on security updates. Here is Microsoft’s official statement: Due to minimal operations during the holidays and the upcoming Western New Year, there will be no insecure preview release for the month of December 2022. There will be a monthly security release (known as the ” B”) for December 2022. Normal monthly service for Versions B and C will resume in January 2023 “.
It couldn’t be clearer, see you in January 2023 for the update release schedule to resume. However, as stated by the media Bleeping Computer, it’s a safe bet that next month’s update will not contain any major bug fixes. January’s Patch Tuesday is indeed expected to include various fixes from previous optional updates.
Anyway, let’s hope that these well-deserved vacations for Microsoft staff will allow the giant to start the year 2023 on a high note, particularly with regard to the many new features expected from Windows 11.
