Winner of its duel against the Galaxy A52s, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is €399 (with ODR)

Samsung’s Galaxy A53 5G is one of the most interesting smartphones of this first half of 2022. However, it has not yet suffered a substantial price reduction and only benefits from rare promotions that lower its launch price by €459.

It is nevertheless possible to acquire this smartphone having collected 4 stars during our laboratory test at a lower cost. Samsung is indeed offering a refund offer of €50 to be used on the purchase of the Galaxy A53 5G (see the conditions here). Valid until June 21, the ODR therefore allows interested parties to buy the smartphone for €399.98 from Electro Dépôt, which charges it to date at the lowest price (€449.98).

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G holds its own against the excellent Galaxy A52s

It should be remembered that the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is the heir to a Galaxy A5x series of which we particularly appreciated the 2021 version, namely the Galaxy A52s. It must be said that the smartphone benefits from a convincing 6.5-inch Amoled screen, a Snapdragon 778G chip for the less efficient and a 4500 mAh battery giving it good autonomy. But if the Galaxy A53 5G, identical to its predecessor in terms of design, is neck and neck with its predecessor, it differs from it on two points.

On the photo component, which we owe to a block consisting of a main 64-megapixel sensor (wide-angle optics), a 12-megapixel sensor with its ultra wide-angle and two 5-megapixel sensors each (macro and depth), the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G performed much better than its predecessor. A crucial point must also be credited to it: its durability, due to its waterproofness, common to the Galaxy A52s, but also to its update guarantee. Samsung promises that the Galaxy S53 5G will get four years of Android upgrades and five years of security updates. The Korean is among the most generous on this point, and even more so at this price level.
