Winter 2024 sales – The “4-star” SanDisk iXpand Wireless Charger at €49.95 (-18%)

Launched in September 2019, SanDisk’s iXpand wireless charger is compatible with 10W fast charging and allows you to store all the photos contained in your smartphone on your hard drive, via Wi-Fi. A good idea well done?

When it comes time to conclude, this iXpand Wireless Charger leaves a mixed feeling. On one hand, it’s quite effective as a charger and as a storage station. On the other hand, it is far from being the best wireless charger and that’s a lot to pay for 256 GB of storage. In our opinion, it is better to invest in a more efficient wireless charger, such as the Anker PowerWave 7.5 Pad, for around fifty euros. Then, with what you save, it’s possible to get one (or more) hard drive or SSD from 256 GB to several terabytes.

Strong points

  • Good level of finishes.
  • Functional storage station.
  • Recharges iPhones fairly quickly.

Weak points

  • Cumbersome.
  • Non-USB power supply.
  • Micro-USB cable not included.
  • High consumption.
  • Bad value for money.

NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude the prices of stores whose the VAT policy is not clear (so-called “gray” stores, typically in the case of imports from China).

Alternatively

This little wireless charging pad is far from being a cheap device. If it does its job perfectly and charges smartphones efficiently, its ultimately too small size and fairly high consumption after charging do not place it among the best students. We therefore prefer to recommend a more efficient Anker PowerWave 7.5W Pad at a lower price, while offering better ergonomics (except for the USB-C port).
