Meet me by Lisa Gardner

The city of Boston is shaken by a particularly violent crime: a mother, two of her children and her companion were found murdered in the early hours of the morning in their house. Missing is the eldest child, Roxanna, who witnesses say they saw walking the dogs shortly before the shots. Is she also a victim or the culprit? In charge of the case, Inspector D.D. Warren will discover a story much more complex than she imagined …

We find with pleasure the character of D.D. Warren for a new investigation rich in twists (including the revelation of the culprit). Abuse of minors, child pornography, treason, revenge … motives and suspects are not lacking in this intrigue. But the inspector is not alone on the case since Flora Dane (character who we discovered in the novel Black light) is also on the spot. Since their previous meeting, the survivor has formed a small group to help those who have gone through the same type of traumatic events as she and Roxanna had contacted one of the group members. If we feel that the cop moderately appreciates the methods of the civilian, both will roll up their sleeves to shed light on this crime and protect the victims.

You have an email by Alyssa Cole

Between her job as an assistant in a laboratory and her job as a waitress, Naledi is busy … Too much to think of finding a lover. Until she began to receive mysterious emails suggesting that she was engaged to an African prince. An absurd story for the young woman, an orphan who knows nothing about her native country. But Prince Jamal, the famous fiancé, has every intention of bringing back his bride and invites himself into his life by posing as a simple waiter.

We love this heroine who has it in her head and doesn't let herself be fooled by the glitter and glamor of a possible life as a princess. As for Jamal, he takes his homework very seriously, ready to sacrifice a lot for the good of his people. This novel also deals with very current issues such as racism (of which Jamal is a victim during his incognito immersion in Ledi's life) or homosexuality. A story full of charm and humor that we devour in no time without even realizing it.
