Wish list: royals, technology and milk foam

Christmas is just around the corner and, as always, you can't start thinking about the right gifts early enough. And: What do I actually wish for myself for Christmas? One or two of our editors at least already know what should be on their personal wish lists this year. One of them will report on it every week. Let yourself be inspired by these wish and gift ideas.

To me, GALA editor Jenny, wishing something for your loved ones for Christmas sounds easier said than done. I usually fulfill the small wishes of everyday life myself. And the big ones are often so expensive that I don't want to ask family and friends to give them as Christmas presents. But in 2020 everything is somehow different – including my wish list. And so a few Christmas wishes actually came together that I can give the Christ Child with a clear conscience on his way.

For royal fans

Christmas is the time of calm and contemplation – and therefore the perfect moment to devote yourself to a good book. For Royal fans like me, several recommended books were published in 2020. This includes the biography "Prince Philip – Revealed" about Queen Elizabeth's husband. The work was written by Ingrid Seward, a long-time Royal expert who is renowned in England. The book is at the top of my wish list. A small downer for German fans of the British Royals: "Prince Philip – Revaled" is currently only available in English.

For milk fans

For many it is inconceivable, but: I don't like coffee and I don't drink it. Especially in a cold time like Christmas or at a coffee party with my family, I still want a hot drink to warm up. Because it doesn't always have to be tea and I don't like warmed milk from the pot or the microwave any more than coffee is Milk frother the perfect alternative. Unfortunately, I don't have one of my own so far – that's why the device ends up on my wish list for Christmas. Great: If I like it sweeter, I can mix myself a cocoa.

For multimedia fans

Video chats with mom and dad, virtual film evenings with friends, regulating everyday life via e-mail, going online shopping, ordering food and and and – the digital has never been as important as it is in the Corona era. "Keep distance!" is the order of the day. When the going gets tough, even at Christmas … I use a cell phone and a laptop for communication and organization. But the smartphone screen is often too small for me and the overall laptop is too bulky. The solution: a Tablet. You can even put it on the festive table at Christmas, at least to celebrate digitally with your loved ones.

For fans of jewelry and Duchess Kate

As I admitted at the beginning: I am a big Royal fan. I especially like Duchess Catherine. Besides her work for the royal family and her family life, it's her look that inspires me. Whether clothes, hair or accessories – when it comes to fashion and beauty, Kate is already a queen. Perhaps you have already admired Kate in photos – and noticed that she almost never leaves the house without a special piece of jewelry: her iconic engagement ring. Once made by Prince Charles for Princess Diana, Kate received it when Prince William proposed marriage in 2010. It may be cheesy, but: one Replica of the royal ring I would like it on my finger. So add it to your wish list!

For handbag fans

Women are said to never have enough handbags. This truism does not apply to me, however, because: I only have three copies in my closet. However, I can't completely deny the attraction of the popular accessory and so a new one comes along purse on my wish list for Christmas. Not because I need it, but simply because I like it. And that's the best thing about wishes for Christmas, isn't it?
