Kylian Mbappé never stops breaking records. The Paris Saint-Germain star striker scored a quintuple in his club’s win over Pays de Cassel in the Coupe de France Round of 16 to equal Jean-Pierre Papin’s record of 29 goals in the competition .

Author of a quintuple with Paris Saint-Germain against Pays de Cassel, Kylian Mbappé became Monday in Lens the co-top scorer in the history of the Coupe de France with 29 goals, like Jean-Pierre Papin. The 2022 vice-world champion scored his 29 goals in 25 games played in the oldest French club competition.

He joins “JPP”, author of 29 goals for Marseille and Bordeaux, and doubles the Portuguese Pedro Miguel Pauleta, 28 times scorer in the tournament with Bordeaux and PSG. Mbappé won three French Cups with PSG in 2018, 2020 and 2021. JPP won one with OM in 1989, and Pauleta two, in 2004 and 2006.

First quintuplet in the history of PSG

Captain of PSG on Monday evening, Mbappé achieved his quintuplet in less than fifty minutes (29th, 35th, 40th, 56th, 78th). His best goal is his second, a lob on amateur goalkeeper Romain Samson. The US Pays de Cassel plays in Regional 1, the 6th French division.

It is also the first quintuplet in the history of PSG. By scoring five goals tonight, Mbappé now brings his personal counter at PSG to 196 in the Parisian jersey. Only four more goals and he will equal Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, current top scorer in the history of the capital club with 200 goals scored.
