[Le Deal du Jour] You dream of having an Apple Watch, but do not dare to take the plunge because of the price. The SE model, designed at a more affordable price than the classic range, is currently on sale at Darty. The 40 mm compatible 4G model is then at 299 euros instead of 349 euros.

The Apple Watch SE incorporates the features of the brand’s most premium connected watch. By offering it at a more affordable price, the Cueprtino company has obviously made some concessions, especially on features like the Always-On Display. However, for those whose budget is quite limited, the SE is the ideal solution to accompany your iPhone.
Launched at 349 euros and available this January 21, 2022 at 319 euros on Darty, the Apple Watch SE GPS + Cellular in its 40 mm version drops to 299 euros thanks to the promo code “ DARTY20 », to be entered before proceeding to the payment of your order. There is also the GPS-only model at 269 euros instead of 299 euros.
To better understand the offer
- How is the SE version different from other Apple wearables?
After introducing an affordable iPhone in 2016, Apple is doing the same with its wearables. Less expensive, the Apple Watch SE necessarily ignores a few features to reduce the final bill, such as the Always-On Display which is not available on its 1.78-inch OLED Retina screen, displaying a definition of 448 x 368 pixels. That being said, the latter is still of good quality.
The look, however, is no different from other more premium models. We obviously find this rectangular format specific to Apple, or the famous Digital Crown. It is especially by turning over the dial of the watch that we notice the differences, because this model does not carry the same sensors. So goodbye to the ECG for the electrocardiogram and the oximeter to know the oxygenation of the blood.
- What does it have to offer?
The Apple Watch SE is still a fairly complete connected watch. It focuses a little less on the health of its user, but makes no concessions for sport. You will find all the functions of the other models, with in-depth monitoring of a large number of activities, from cycling to swimming (waterproof up to 50 meters) and even sports at altitude thanks to its altimeter. It is also compatible with Apple Pay and currently runs on Watch OS 8.
The Watch SE is obviously less powerful than Apple’s recent premium solution, as it embeds the S5 processor from the Watch Series 5, but it delivers a smooth experience on a daily basis. Deprived of sensors such as the oximeter, the ECG, or even the Always-On functionality, the Watch SE has the merit of having better autonomy. It offers a good autonomy of 18 hours, according to Apple. Depending on your use, it is therefore able to last a whole day, or even two.
