With a bushy beard – a stark transformation: the star is hardly recognizable

Actor Robert Stadlober had to endure a lot for his new film “A Whole Life” – and thus probably broke his record for the longest time in the mask.

“At the end of the film I am almost 80 years old – I sat in the mask for 6.5 hours for this transformation. It was breathtaking to see his own grandfather’s face,” Robert Stadlober tells the “Krone”. The actor doesn’t shy away from extreme transformations. The mime dyes his hair almost regularly. Just as diverse as his external appearance, the mime is also artistically active: “I am in the final stages of a music album with the lyrics by Kurt Tucholsky.” Stadlober will also appear in a new film. However, he is not allowed to reveal any more details yet. It is questionable whether the new film will have the same dimensions as “A Whole Life”, which recently premiered in Salzburg. 1000 extras were needed for the filming of the novel adaptation. It was directed by Hans Steinbichler and filmed in Matrei in East Tyrol and the surrounding area as well as in the Lienz area. The mime, who is also in international demand, particularly enjoys filming in his Austrian homeland: “It is always special to work in Austria because it is very family-oriented and I do most of it have known for many years. I would actually like to play a commissioner in Austria in the coming years.”
