The doctors in Vöcklabruck fought for his life for almost 24 hours, but Sascha M. died of severe head injuries in the hospital. What happened? In a left turn on Kirchenstraße in the local area of Attnang-Puchheim in the direction of the parish church, the 21-year-old lost control of his bike on Thursday around 10.30 p.m. and fell badly. According to the police, the guests of a restaurant had seen the terrible accident and rushed to help him immediately. M. did not have a bicycle helmet on – this might have saved his life. The accident witnesses, including several young people, notified the emergency services.
The young man from Attnang-Puchheim was not available. A team of emergency doctors took care of him at the scene of the accident and brought him to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Vöcklabruck. There he succumbed to his head injuries on Friday around 9:20 p.m. – almost 24 hours later. The grief in his home community is great, the death of such a young fellow citizen leaves no one indifferent. Sascha M. was a member of the youth fire brigade several years ago.
