With e-power into spring: Prophete e-bike at Aldi Nord

Running

When equipping the Prophete e-bike, the manufacturer relied on the tried and tested: Shimano Nexus gears, Continental tires, Suntour suspension forks, Magura brakes and the e-novation mid-engine promise a certain basic quality – the frame comes with a 10-year guarantee required, on all small parts (except wearing parts) three years. Other retailers also have Prophete models, and the unspecified Aldi offering is likely a year-ago model.

The 461 watt-hour battery with a two-year manufacturer’s guarantee has a decent range of 140 kilometers, but it depends on your driving style. If you’re not willing to pedal a little yourself, chances are you won’t get that far – speed also plays a role. The engine alone enables you to reach speeds of up to 25 km/h, which is quite fast.

It is also quite positive that with the permissible total weight of 150 kilograms, taller and heavier people can also dare to get on the bike. In addition, you really don’t need any outstanding technical knowledge to screw in the pedals and adjust the handlebars on the otherwise pre-assembled bike – that’s also a plus.

We are somewhat critical of the fact that the note “helmet and registration-free” may be misunderstood to mean that a helmet does not have to be worn when driving. Here it is more about the fact that there is no obligation to wear a helmet, as is the case with motorcycles or mopeds. You should still wear a bicycle helmet.
