While Zepp may not be a household name to everyone, Zepp Health Corporation is better known for its Amazfit family of connected watches and bracelets. The brand, which has particularly rich news, announces the update of its operating system for smartwatches.

Its main novelty? Zepp Flow, a generative AI integrated into the new version of the in-house OS, Zepp OS 3.5. It allows users to express their needs and commands in natural language, thus avoiding having to directly manipulate the connected watch. This may involve modifying certain parameters, requesting the weather forecast for a location or even launching a training program. Zepp OS 3.5 also brings better WhatsApp integration with the possibility of receiving photos in the watch.

An update for the Amazfit Active and Balance

Announced a few months ago, Amazfit’s high-end watch, the Balance (sold for €249.90), today benefits from a major update which brings it five expected functions. It is now capable of indicating heart rate variability, or the variation between one heartbeat and the next. The Libra measures running power, data that allows accomplished athletes to better manage their effort. We also note the arrival of new physical activities such as climbing and bouldering. The Zepp Coach AI creates tailor-made training programs for half-marathons and marathons. Finally, the Balance takes advantage of its dual-band GPS to enable tracking of ski and snowboard routes.

It should be noted that the Active watch also benefits from the arrival of ZeppOS 3.5, and therefore of Flow, whose compatibility with the French language must be clarified from May 15.

Without Flow, an Amazfit Bip 5 Unity at a low price

The brand then presents the Amazfit Bip 5 Unity, a connected watch for the general public offered at the particularly attractive price of €69.90. It still has a large 1.91-inch screen, the equivalent of the Apple Watch Series 9 45 mm. It features a TFT touch screen displaying a resolution of 320 x 380 pixels for a density of 260 ppi. The screen is protected by 2.5D tempered glass and allows you to appreciate the 100 different dials offered by the brand. The case mixes stainless steel in its upper part and plastic, the whole measuring 45.8 x 37.08 x 10 mm for a weight of 25 g without the bracelet. The latter, made of antibacterial silicone, has a standard hook which allows it to be changed easily. The Bip 5 Unity meets the IP68 standard. It has a 300 mAh battery which takes 2 hours to charge.

The brand announces an autonomy of between 5 and 26 days depending on the intensity of use of the watch. This has a BioTracker biometric sensor to display the heart rate, but also the oxygen level in the blood. The watch is also capable of estimating your stress level and has a menstrual cycle tracking feature. Sleep tracking is also present. Athletes will appreciate the automatic detection of six physical activities such as walking, running or rowing, but many other sports are supported manually, 120 in total. The Amazfit Bip 5 Unity connects via Bluetooth to Android smartphones, but also to iPhones. It has a microphone and speaker for phone calls.

It is based on the Zepp OS 3.0 operating system, which notably offers the installation of additional applications drawn from a catalog of 70 apps. Three colors are available: gray, charcoal gray and pink.
