With Google Photos you can create slow motions

Google Photos will soon benefit from a new functionality. It will allow users to apply a slow motion effect to a selected part of a video.

There’s a lot of talk about artificial intelligence at Google at the moment, a technology that is now found everywhere in the tech group’s products, and even in Google Photos. The application will thus benefit from a new search option to find photos more easily. But the innovation will not stop there for the application, since a new effect for videos will see the light of day!

“Cinematic Moment” comes to Google Photos

To find out what the developer teams of an application are preparing, nothing beats a little research in the code of the latest version. This is what Assemble Debug did, which works with Android Authorityand who took a look at Google Photos version 6.84.0.634885033.

And the media was able to notice the arrival of a new feature, called “Cinematic Moment”, which reminds us of the Cinematic Photos option, a function which brings to life the essentially static images that are photographs. The rest of the code gives details of what should be possible.

An automatic slow motion effect

Indeed, this Cinematic Moment is characterized as being able to create a slow motion effect. As noted Neowin, this feature should work on the Cinematic Photos model, that is to say it should automatically print this slow motion effect on part of the selected video. But nothing says that in the future Google will not allow you to manually choose the parts to modify.

Since it has been in a frantic race with OpenAI to develop the most AI applications, Google has continued to offer new products in the sector, and particularly with Google Photos. At the end of last year, the Mountain View firm integrated its new “Magic Editor” tool into the Google Photos of the latest Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.
