With modesty, Guillaume Roi, sales director of Versuni France declares:Baristina marks the start of a new movement in the world of coffee“. And added that “*this movement frees itself from the complexity and pretension of current coffee culture and which chooses to embrace simplicity while offering consumers exceptional taste, quality and design.”

But what is so exceptional about this Baristina? First of all, she takes up the form factor a traditional percolator coffee maker, such as the Delonghi Specialista. The preparation of a coffee begins with the choice of the drink: espresso, lungo or ultra-intense coffee and its intensity (two levels): once the button is pressed, the bean contained in the container (with a capacity of 170 grams, 1.2 liters for the water tank)) is crushed and the powder obtained is packed automatically in the filter holder; Note that previously ground coffee can also be used. The difference between the two preparation methods appears when it is time to place the famous filter holder under the extraction unit. While you have to detach the latter when using a Delonghi Specialista or a Sage Oracle Touch, you just have to slide it to the right on the Baristina. The water is then delivered through the coffee wafer, at a pressure of 16 bars. The manufacturer promises a temperature in the cup of 72°C. Please note that the filter holder can, however, be removed from the Baristina to eject the grounds into the trash, as a barista would do.

Everyone will therefore judgenew movement in the world of coffee“what constitutes the Baristina: the fact remains that this direct competitor to the Nespresso philosophy actually seems simpler to use than a classic semi-automatic coffee maker and, a fortiori than a very sophisticated full-auto model like the Jura Z10. The other side of the coin, as we said, is that the recipes offered are very few in number. Fortunately, Philips offers a milk frother sold separately (€90 all the same) so that the user can try their hand at making milk drinks, at the cost of a little preparation effort of course.
