With its controlled price, Decathlon’s new electric mountain bike will challenge the specialists

Armed with high-end Rockshox suspension and the Shimano EP8 motor, the new Decathlon Rockrider E-Feel 700S electric mountain bike controls its price. Here it is arriving in the Decathlon catalog.

The new range of Decathlon e-MTBs is gradually arriving. We told you about the flagship E-Feel 900 S Team Edition very recently, but its much more accessible little brother is also imminent. In any case, this is what the Rockrider E-Feel 700S page, which appeared on the brand’s website a few days ago, suggests.

The advantages of the Rockrider E-MTB: large suspensions and muscular engine

This electric mountain bike, seen last fall, is not aiming for lightness with 25.5 kg on the scale, but for performance. The Rockrider E-Feel 700S is powered by the Shimano EP8 central motor and its 85 Nm of torque. To avoid running out of juice, the 630 Wh battery capacity should ensure long outings, supported by the 4 A fast charger.

The RockRider E-Feel 700S also displays “S” in its name: this means that it is a full suspension e-MTB. Its aluminum frame made in Canada is based on a Rockshox 35 Golf RL fork with 160 mm travel and a 150 mm rear shock absorber. The Decathlon electric bike equips its 29-inch wheels with in-house tires, the Grip 500, fitted with high-end TRP Slate Evo brakes with 4-piston calipers. As for the transmission, it’s the smallest concession of the lot: you’re dealing with a Shimano Cues 600 derailleur with an 11-speed cassette.

E-MTB at Decathlon price and components with lifetime warranty

Well armed, the RockRider E-Feel 700S is an “inexpensive” e-MTB considering its price of 3,499 euros. Decathlon has in fact entrusted it with in-house components including the crankset, saddle, handlebars and stem. The latter two are, like the frame, guaranteed for life, while the electrical part has a 2-year guarantee. Still unavailable, the all-terrain electric bike should arrive in stores in the coming weeks.
