As has been said and repeated, Oppo is no longer distributed, to this day, on the French market, as well as in some neighboring European countries. Which in no way prevents the star brand of the Chinese giant BBK Electronics from continuing its activities everywhere else, and showing that its R&D has lost none of its splendor. This is evidenced by its Find X7 Ultra, just made official in China, which is the first Oppo model to display the “Ultra” label. This signals its ambition to establish itself as the best camera phone on the market – at least, if Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, expected in ten days, does not do better…
It must be said that its immense back photo block, which is reminiscent of the one found on the OnePlus Open, its sister brand, does not skimp on technical means. There are four photo modules, the first of which is based on the brand new Lytia LYT-900 from Sony, a 50 megapixel one-inch format sensor, with wide-angle optics (f/1.8). Another 50 Mpx sensor (LYT-600) is flanked by ultra-wide-angle optics (f/2).

The following two do not use the new brand of Sony sensors, but adopt IMX references from the Japanese firm. So count on the IMX890 for one and IMX858 for the other, both 50 Mpx, each associated with a periscopic lens: the Find equivalent to a 65 mm (x3 zoom) and a 135 mm (x6). Suffice to say that the device announces a versatility that is interesting to say the least. It also benefits from the Hasselblad brand, partner of Oppo and OnePlus; new options bearing the Swedish brand are notably dedicated to portrait mode.
For the rest, the Find X7 Ultra has a set of irrefutably premium features. 6.82-inch Oled screen displaying 3268 x 1440 pixels, LTPO, maximum brightness announced at 4500 nits, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 12 or 16 GB of RAM, 5000 mAh battery with 100 W wired charging and wireless charging , IP68 certification and wifi 7: everything is there, and even emergency communications by satellite. Despite everything, the weight of the smartphone remains average for its category, since the Find X7 Ultra weighs 221 grams on the scale for dimensions of 164.3 x 76.2 x 9.5 mm. Its price is also average for its category: count on a starting price of 5999 yuan, or around €775 excluding tax (12/256 GB), and a maximum price of 6999 yuan, or around €900 excluding tax ( 16/512 GB).
