With its Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022, Samsung breathes new life into its 2020 tablet

A newcomer to the constellation of Samsung tablets is now appearing. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022, a barely retouched version of the eponymous model dating from 2020, has just been quietly released.

Since the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, launched in the spring of 2020, Samsung has abandoned the “Lite” stamp attached to its tablets to favor the “FE” (for Fan Edition) versions of its Tab S7 series, a little less high-end, but not reduced. But with few means, the Korean has just found the parade: he offers a reissue of his Tab S6 Lite, now decked out with the mention “2022”.

The new tablet almost entirely retains the spec sheet of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The exceptions are rare, and mainly concern the chip that drives it, namely the Snapdragon 720G, replacing the aging Exynos 9611, to bring the newcomer, we hope at least, more power. Another change to note, and not the least: the tablet makes its debut under Android 12, which logically guarantees extended durability. However, it is currently unknown whether the device will benefit, like the Galaxy Tab S8, from four years of Android upgrades.

For the rest, therefore, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has, like its predecessor, a 10.4-inch screen (LCD) displaying 1200 x 2000 pixels. It has 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, a microSD port, an 8 megapixel back photo sensor and another 5 megapixel front. Finally, the 7040 mAh battery, which had given the Tab S6 Lite 2020 a little more than 17 hours of autonomy, remains integrated into the device.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 has so far only been shown at Amazon Italy, foreshadowing a wider release in Europe. It is currently billed there from €399 in the wifi version (just over €450 in the 4G version), with stylus, which allows it to rank between the entry-level Galaxy Tab A8 and the Galaxy Tab S8.
