Since the beginning of the year, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra has insolently taken the first place in our robot vacuum cleaner buying guide. However, Xiaomi has come to challenge it with its Robot Vacuum X10+ which it is launching below the 1000 € mark and which was able to get away with it with flying colors at the end of its test. But, since it is necessary to decide between them, the drafting of Digital took on the task.
Both robots offer more or less the same functions. Both move using a laser rangefinder and incorporate a camera coupled with lasers and artificial intelligence to recognize and avoid obstacles, with varying degrees of success. The Roborock model, however, stands out with its lamp which allows it to recognize obstacles, even in the dark, and its camera can also be used to see what is happening in the house from the application. It also offers a vibrating mop to which Xiaomi prefers two small rotating mops, but both models are able to wash the floor in addition to vacuuming it.
Xiaomi like Roborock also accompany their robot with a station facilitating their maintenance. The user is freed from emptying the collector, but also from washing the mops. The passage in the machine remains however more efficient for the latter, and the state of the filter remains to be monitored to maintain good suction performance, in particular on the Robot Vacuum X10+.
It is especially in our suction test that the gap widens between the two models. Roborock’s, once in boost mode, literally leaves nothing behind on hard ground. The same cannot be said of its competitor and, if it defends itself well on our fine carpet and even takes the upper hand on our long-haired carpet, the Robot Vacuum X10+ remains less efficient overall.
On the autonomy side, the two robot vacuum cleaners once again pull the plug, each being able to vacuum for 3 hours in normal mode, and around 1:30 at maximum power. It should be noted, however, that the Roborock, with its 3 hour recharge, can resume cleaning more quickly than the Xiaomi device. The latter, on the other hand, wins hands down in the battle of decibels. Indeed, our sound level meter never displayed more than 60 dB(A) when the Vacuum X10+ was working, while we measured up to 66 dB(A) for the Roborock model, which is therefore a little noisier.
Despite honorable performances, Xiaomi’s robot vacuum cleaner cannot win against the S7 MaxV Ultra. The better suction performance of the latter, its more numerous functions or even its more efficient filtration allow it to emerge victorious from this duel. Find more details in the full article.
