Every year, the Thermomix expands its skills with new accessories. After the Vegetable Peeler and the highly anticipated Minute Cutter, Vorwerk is launching the Thermomix Sensor this year; a cooking probe connected to the most famous robot cooker on the market.

If the Thermomix knows how to do many things with precision and rigor as our lab tests have certified, there is one thing that escapes the Vorwerk robot cooker, it is the cooking of certain recipes which require the use of an oven, a frying pan or a barbecue. 50% of the recipes available on Cookidoo require cooking outside the food processor and this is where the Thermomix loses control. It is therefore to regain control and support the user until the end of their recipe that Vorwerk launches its probe connected (via Bluetooth) to the TM6.

Like any connected probe, the Thermomix Sensor will allow you to monitor the thorough cooking of a cake dough (the temperature differs for a coulant, a fondant or a soft chocolate), a piece of meat or a piece of meat. ‘a fish. A small support is supplied with the Thermomix Sensor, this must be attached to the edges of the mold to hold the probe in a liquid paste and prevent it from drowning in it. This probe can withstand temperatures in the oven cavity up to 275°C, and if you want to use the support, you will have to limit yourself to a temperature of 220°C. Finally, the probe can measure a core temperature of up to 100°C.

The probe is recharged from the base with which it is delivered. For safety reasons, this base is battery powered (a battery next to a cooking appliance could create risks), and can be magnetized to an oven door for convenient access. The autonomy of the probe announced by Vorwerk is 24 hours, enough to allow the Thermomix Sensor to withstand the cooking of the famous leg of lamb for 7 hours.

To support the launch of the Sensor, the TM6 will integrate a dedicated program (from the robot’s program interface) from which the user will be able to choose the type of cooking they wish to monitor (cake, bread, beef, pork, lamb, poultry, fish) then the type of cake or piece of meat. To date, 300 recipes are compatible with the Thermomix Sensor (out of the 10,000 recipes on Cookidoo) and the list should continue to grow.

Impossible to connect the Thermomix Sensor with the TM5 (which does not integrate Bluetooth)! However, the probe can be paired to a smartphone and, from the Cooking Sensor application, the user will be able to monitor the rise in temperature in the heart of the food.
