With its UI 4.0, Realme is getting up to speed with Android 13


A little less active since the fall, after a year 2022 rich in announcements, Realme has nevertheless just formalized its 10 and 10 Pro series equipped with Android 13 and its home interface, Realme UI 4.0. This combination, if we are to believe the roadmap unveiled last September by the brand, must be deployed on a wide range of smartphones, including the GT Neo 2 5G, the GT Master Edition, the 9 series in early 2023 and a few. C range models (C30, C35 in Q3 2023).

While waiting for the update of its devices, Realme details the options included in the new interface. The Chinese brand evokes no less than 260 changes, some of which are obviously minor. We will nevertheless notice refreshed icons for the occasion, swapping the color gradients of One UI 3 for flat tints, as well as modernized settings panes, the options now being grouped in thematic “cards”. App folders get a larger format to provide a more readable preview of their contents. As for the widgets, widely honored by Android 13, they are enriched and allow faster access to dynamic tools, such as the pedometer or the calendar.

L’always-on-displaytaken advantage of by Oled screens, gains some new features, including the possibility of controlling audio playback on Spotify, but also an overview of the number of unlocks of the smartphone screen during the day.

The improvements made by Realme UI 4.0 relate to the ergonomics of smartphones and tablets, but the brand obviously promises increased optimization. It thus evokes overall performance up 10%, a maximum temperature (not specified…) reduced by one degree, autonomy up 4.7% in game and more fluidity in the animations. Finally, let’s add that the Safe, a secure storage area in mobiles, benefits with Realme UI 4.0 from AES encryption.
