[Deal du Jour] The iPhone 14 is not Apple’s latest smartphone, but remains an excellent premium model. Its high selling price upon release did not make it a necessarily recommendable smartphone. It is now much more interesting on promotion.

The iPhone 14 128 GB, Starlight color, is sold upon release for €1,019, then discounted on the official Apple website for €869. It is currently on offer at the price of €702 on Amazon.

What is this iPhone 14?
This version of the iPhone 14 is the basic model, more affordable than its colleagues the iPhone 14 Plus, Pro and Pro Max. It is therefore aimed at a wider audience, but nonetheless remains a very good model. With dimensions of 146.7 × 71.5 × 7.8 mm and a weight of less than 180 g, it offers a good grip, even with one hand. The side buttons are well placed and contribute to good ergonomics overall. The finishes of the Apple smartphone are of course excellent, with well-integrated buttons and great manufacturing quality, accompanied by IP68 certification in order to withstand short immersion in water, as well as dust.
The iPhone 14 features a Super Retina OLED panel with a resolution of 2,532 × 1,170 pixels, and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. This is certainly below what other competing smartphones offer in the same price range, but the screen still delivers good performance, with little reflections. Readability is optimal and comfort is there. Note, however, that this is the last iPhone model not to benefit from Dynamic Island. The A15 Bionic chip allows everything to run very smoothly and under iOS 17.
Is the iPhone 14 worth it at this price?
If you have to invest in a recent iPhone, but you find the iPhone 15 still too expensive, then it is a fair price for a quality high-end smartphone. The iPhone 14 is also a very good camera phone, without however matching Samsung in this area. Equipped with a 12 Mpx main sensor and a 12 Mpx secondary sensor, it offers quality photos and videos, day and night. The iPhone 14 can also film in 4K HDR, Dolby Vision, and at 60 fps.
Autonomy level, count on 20 hours of use, in the case of normal use, a little less in the case of intensive use, but easily the whole day. It recharges via its Lightning port in less than 2 hours.
