The Realme brand, still young on the telephone market, has been discreet in 2023, a complicated year for the BBK Electronics group to which it belongs; the group’s flagship, Oppo, has left certain European markets due to a legal dispute opposing it to Nokia, which was however resolved recently. The fact remains that Realme has not marketed any of its encrypted series smartphones nor its GTs, models generally geared towards power. Since low-cost terminals, such as the C55, are among its bestsellers, it is rather an entry-level model that the firm intends to capitalize on.
Its C67 is making its debut on the French market today, with a technical sheet that is generally agreed with regard to its price positioning. The smartphone thus offers a 6.72-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz maximum, and whose brightness is announced up to 950 cd/m². Under its hood hides a Snapdragon 685 (4G) chip, adopted by many entry-level smartphones, such as Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 and 13 4G, of which the C67 is positioned as the competitor. The brand accompanies it with 6 to 8 GB of RAM, which gives hope for appreciable fluidity.
On the multimedia side, the Realme C67 intends to stand out with the integration of a 108-megapixel main photo sensor (with a wide-angle f/1.75), a feature that is however found on a Redmi Note 13. The latter however, has the merit of accompanying it with an ultra-wide-angle module, absent from the C67. The device is in fact satisfied with a second 2 Mpx module dedicated to depth measurement, and evokes a 3x zoom corresponding to the cropping possibilities offered by its main sensor. It offers, on the front, an 8 Mpx sensor housed within a punch for taking selfies. Finally, we note that this relatively thin smartphone (7.59 mm) and reasonable weight (185 grams) has a 5000 mAh battery compatible with 33 W charging. The manufacturer announces a launch under Android 14, accompanied by 3 years of updates, and a contained sale price. Count on €219 for its 6/128 GB version and €259 for the 8/256 GB model, each version benefiting from a reduction of €20 for a few days.
Towards a more extensive catalog
The C67, Realme promises, will not be the only smartphone it will market in France. The manufacturer, which intends to make young people its core target as part of a repositioning of its offering, aims to expand its French catalog. It is therefore planning a GT model in 2024 – undoubtedly the GT 5 Pro presented in China at the end of 2023, or its successor – and intends to launch models around €400 then, at the end of the year, a premium product.
