In Alsace and in the Vosges
From the beginning of spring, on the side of the Kayserberg valley in Alsace, the white lake delights lovers of nature and wide open spaces.
Further south, Lake Gérardmer, inseparable from the tourist town of the same name, is a popular stopover for all those who like to recharge their batteries, walk (6 km well laid out) and learn about various water sports.
Located in a classified site of Lorraine, the natural lake of Longemer and “its thousand reflections”, it is said, is a real paradise for fishermen and young and old hikers who can plan the tour in one hour.
Another paradise for rod-fishing enthusiasts: Lac des Corbeaux in the resort of La Bresse. A stone’s throw away, the botanic and educational trail of the Lispach lake bog is particularly popular with children.
In the Jura…
In addition to its sublime mountain panoramas, the Jura stretches out, sometimes a little out of sight, magnificent lakes dating back to prehistory and often resulting from the melting of the ice.
Among the most famous: Saint-Point lake with clear waters (easy tour but quite long > 18 km / 5 h); The now legendary Four Lakes (Narlay, Ilay, Grand-Maclu and Petit-Maclu) where reeds, water lilies, rushes and willows emancipate; The emerald lake of Vouglans (pedal boat rental and commented cruise possible aboard the Louisiane); Lake Chalain allowing you to consider a boat trip around the remains of old houses on stilts as well as the Lagons water park; Lake Clairvaux and its sails; Lac des Rousses and its abundant fauna (trout, pike, perch and roach)…
In Rhône Alpes…
In Haute-Savoie, Lake Annecy, one of the purest in Europe, and its beautiful shades of turquoise, invite you to relax, swim and take photos.
But the most daring will also try to approach it on rollerblades, pedal boat or bicycle. Between Aix-les-Bains and Novalaise, in Savoie, the wilder lakes of Le Bourget and Aiguebelette are also suitable for walking between flowery meadows and mountains with still snow-capped peaks.
Likewise in Vanoise, with the lac des vaches, which can be reached on foot and/or by cable car from Pralognan. Under the sun, Isère is also full of this type of sparkling treasures: Paladru lake, Robert lakes, Crozet and Laffret lakes. Ain is not to be outdone with, for example, Lake Nantua or Lake Genin.
