In order to update its F range, to flagship, Poco has just launched two new mobiles: the F5 and F5 Pro. Two devices in the vein of their predecessors, which intend to offer a complete technical sheet for a tight price.

The Poco F5 Pro

The Poco F5 Pro is equipped with a 6.67-inch Amoled Dot Display screen, displaying in 3200 x 1440 px and enjoying an image refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Everything is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, but is satisfied with an IP53 certification. It will therefore be necessary to pay attention to water splashes. The smartphone weighs 204 grams and displays quite nice finishes.

Under the slab, we find the very efficient Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 from Qualcomm, coupled with 8/12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of storage (not expandable via Micro SD). We can therefore expect great fluidity in multitasking and solid capabilities for video games.

At the rear, the rectangular photo island includes three photo sensors. The wide-angle module is a 64 Mpx sensor whose lens opens at f / 1.79. It is accompanied by an ultra wide-angle of 8 Mpx (f / 2.2) and a macro module which seems more anecdotal (2 Mpx, f / 2.4). A 16 Mpx sensor (f / 2.4) is housed on the front. The mobile is not specifically sold as a photophone, and we will have to wait for it to pass through our labs to see what it has in store.

The Poco F5 Pro is compatible with 30W wireless charging.

The Poco F5 Pro has a solid 5160 mAh battery compatible with fast charging at 67 W. Enough to refuel in less than an hour. The block is supplied in the box.

The whole thing runs on Android 13 and the MIUI 14 “for Poco” overlay. The Poco F5 Pro is available in black and white for a price of €579.90 in its 8/256 GB version, €629.90 in 12/256 GB and €649 in 12/512 GB. an offer to save €50 on the purchase of one of the models.

A promising standard version

The standard Poco F5 is necessarily more affordable, but does not have to be ashamed of its technical sheet. It opts for a thinner and lighter design (181 grams) and has square edges. The various sensors are not integrated into an island.

The Poco F5 has a 3.5mm jack port.

It is also equipped with a 6.67-inch 120 Hz Amoled screen, this time in Full HD + (2400 x 1080 px), but also protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The fingerprint sensor is no longer housed under the screen as on the Pro version, but on the power button located on the edge.

This Poco F5 is powered by the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, a 4 nm SoC coupled with 8/12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. This mid-range chip is promising and should meet the vast majority of uses.
