Already well-stocked in reference, the range of active speakers for PC from Creative is now expanding with a new stereo kit: Pebble Pro. These loudspeakers are largely inspired by the design of their predecessors by adopting a rounded design with the drivers forming a 45° angle in order to diffuse the sound directly at the level of the listener’s ears. These small balls (12.3 x 12.3 x 11.8 cm) are equipped with RGB lighting around the perimeter of their base to brighten up your desk. A potentiometer and control buttons are placed on the right speaker.
Creative says it has thoroughly revised the acoustic architecture of the Pebble Pros by integrating new 2.25-inch (5.7 cm) speakers and new amplifiers. The speakers also feature a passive radiator on their rears. The Pebble Pro would be able to deploy 10 W of power when connected via USB to a PC and up to 30 W when connected to the mains.
By way of connectors, the right speaker has a mini-jack input, a four-pin mini-jack output for connecting headphones and another mini-jack input for connecting an external microphone. Indeed, the Pebble Pro do not have a hands-free kit, but the configuration software includes settings and functions specific to voice processing (attenuation of parasitic noise, voice detection, etc.). The Pebble Pro also have Bluetooth connectivity so you can connect your smartphone to it. The kit is already available at the price of 80 €.
Creative also announced the release of a new soundbar dubbed Sound Blaster Katana V2X. However, this sound bar is nothing new since it is a Sound Blaster Katana V2 accompanied by a more modest subwoofer. Thus the new box would be 40% more compact with dimensions of 11.6 x 25 x 42.3 cm against 15 x 36.7 x 36.7 cm for the one accompanying the Katana V2. The speaker is also smaller: 13.3 cm against 16.5 cm. The Sound Blaster Katana V2X is already available at a price of €310 compared to €350 for the Sound Blaster Katana V2.
