With the X7, Honor unveils its most affordable smartphone

Honor announces the marketing of its X7. A smartphone at a contained price promising in particular good autonomy, and intended to compete with products such as Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 11.

Honor intends to occupy the ground after its discreet return to the European market at the end of last year. The former Huawei brand invested in it in 2021 with its 50 and 50 Lite models, and is multiplying the new references this year. While the Magic 4 Pro is still waiting, the Magic 4 Lite, passed through our laboratories, opened the ball alongside a certain X8. And it is today of an X7 that Honor announces the launch.

This Honor X7 is a lighter version of the X8. Its first compromise is its 6.74-inch LCD screen which, if it offers a welcome refresh rate of 90 Hz, is content with a definition of 720 x 1600 pixels. Under its hood, Honor has nevertheless opted for the Snapdragon 680 which also powers the X8 – but also competitors such as the Oppo Reno 7 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 –, accompanying it with a little less RAM ( 4GB). By way of compensation, the brand adds support for a microSD card to its 128 GB storage space, but also a slightly larger battery than that of the X8. Its 5000 mAh (4000 mAh for its brother) also suggests good endurance. Also note that charging at 22.5 W allows you to fill it up.

Last point to note about this X7: photography. It retains the ultra-wide-angle (5-megapixel sensor), macro (2-megapixel) and depth-sensor (2-megapixel) modules of the Honor X8, and complements them with a 48-megapixel main sensor with wide-angle optics (f / 1.8), against 64 megapixels for the X8. On the front, the definition of the module dedicated to selfies has also been lowered, going from 16 to 8 megapixels. However, this does not translate into a very contained price: count €219, officially from May 16 (even if the device is already listed at certain retailers), with an introductory offer at €199 to accompany its debut.
