A screen stored in a big briefcase to accompany you wherever you want, this is the new extraordinary proposal from LG.

Two weeks ago, LG announced an unusual product: the StanbyME Go, a television screen housed in a small shockproof suitcase to carry everywhere with you. The South Korean manufacturer exhibited this original device in the aisles of IFA 2023 in Berlin.

Reclining and adjustable

The media The Verge had the opportunity to handle a demonstration model. According to the publication, the screen can be oriented either in portrait mode or in landscape mode. The inclination of the television can also be adjusted according to the angle of his choice, while an articulated arm allows him to gain height and to get out a little more of the suitcase to which it is linked.

The stand mechanism is nice and sturdy, and you definitely need two hands to move it “says Jon Porter, the journalist who had the chance to try the product. On the back, the connection consists of an HDMI port and a USB socket, to connect a PC or peripherals.

A battery for cordless use

The device is equipped with a battery ensuring, according to LG, 3 hours of autonomy. It charges through a standard power outlet, and you can watch TV as long as you have access to an electrical outlet.

The case comes with a small compartment used to store the TV remote control (with microphone for voice commands) when the screen is stored. The panel is based on a classic LCD backlight technology and displays a Full HD definition of 1080p. The 27-inch screen is touch-sensitive, so it is possible to navigate the interface directly on it as with a tablet and to launch games compatible with this type of control.

The set weighs about 14 kilos, which is still a bit heavy for a suitcase that does not have wheels to facilitate its transport. Pre-orders are open in the United States for a price of $999.99, with the start of shipments scheduled for October 16, 2023. We do not yet have a price or release date for France.
