Google is not satisfied with chatbots like Gemini in terms of AI. It is therefore launching a new product using artificial intelligence to strengthen cybersecurity.

Artificial intelligence will not simply be used to generate impressive texts, images, or even deepfakes from a simple image. This technology may indeed have more profitable uses. This is the message that the giant Google is sending today, by offering an application of AI which should make it possible to strengthen the cybersecurity of those who purchase its product.

Gemini Pro 1.5 will be used

Last February, Google presented Gemini 1.5 and Gemini 1.5 Pro, its most effective language models to date. And thanks to a collaboration between Google’s cybersecurity service, Mandiant, as well as malware detection and protection division VirusTotal, Gemini 1.5 Pro will be used to improve cybersecurity.

This joint work thus gives rise to the “Threat intelligence” product. A product that should interest many customers, given its ability to analyze malware, to find how to make it harmless. It was thus shown during the presentation of Gemini 1.5 Pro that the model was able to analyze the famous WannaCry virus in 34 seconds, before finding a flaw.

Threat intelligence will benefit from a broad network of information

Threat Intelligence also offers the user a very broad overview of the dangers in cyberspace, thanks to its very dense information network. It is thus possible to better anticipate potential offensives thanks to a clearer awareness of threats at any given time.

Google’s new product will also use the classic functions of generative AI, such as the fact that it will allow the threats that have been compiled to be summarized in natural language.

Google is thus following its competitor Microsoft on this path, which has also adapted Copilot technology to the needs of cybersecurity, with its “Copilot for Security” service, which is notably powered by GPT-4.

Google Gemini (Google Bard)

  • A powerful generation model
  • A knowledge base updated in real time
  • Free and integrated into the Google ecosystem

Google Gemini is an AI chatbot intrinsically connected to the web from which it draws the majority of its knowledge. The main advantage of the service is that it is completely free and offers image recognition. The gradual integration into the Google ecosystem should make it a most capable chatbot for a variety of tasks.
