A serious fire broke out in a St. Veit warehouse at around 10:35 a.m. today. At times, the employees of the adjacent building yard were evacuated.
Thick clouds of smoke rise from a warehouse located right next to the building yard and the St. Veit post office. This is probably a tire warehouse – contrary to initial information, the company Hirsch Maschinenbau is not affected. Adjacent photovoltaic cells on the roof of an adjacent hall were also caught in the fire and had to be extinguished. According to eyewitnesses, there were even explosions: “We heard several loud crackers!” The St. Veit, Liebenfels and Launsdorf fire brigades are currently on duty and fight the fire.
