Withings has not been idle. A few months after the announcement of its last two hybrid watches, the Withings ScanWatch Light and ScanWatch 2, the French manufacturer unveiled, this Tuesday, a new watch model with a very different design, the Withings ScanWatch Nova.

It is in fact a connected watch which takes the main health measurements of the manufacturer’s latest premium model, the ScanWatch 2. The manufacturer’s new watch is thus capable of tracking your heart rate in real time, measuring your blood oxygen level, carry out electrocardiograms or measure skin temperature, in particular to assess your recovery or the effectiveness of your training.

Like other hybrid models from Withings, the ScanWatch Nova is a true watch with physical hands, with a battery-powered dial. However, it also has a small monochrome Amoled screen on the upper part of the dial to display notifications or browse the different features.

But where the ScanWatch Nova differs from the ScanWatch 2 is in its appearance. The watch actually takes the shape of diving watches, with a large bezel all around the dial. The watch is 10 ATM certified – for shallow dives – and equipped with sapphire crystal protection. Note also that the steel and ceramic bezel is rotatable and can be used as a stopwatch or for decompression stops. The watch will also be available in three colors, green, black and blue, and offered with a silver metal bracelet.

The Scanwatch Horizon of the ScanWatch 2

In fact, Withings’ strategy with its ScanWatch Nova is similar to what the manufacturer was able to offer with its ScanWatch Horizon. This model, launched in September 2021, took up the functions and measurements of the first ScanWatch, but in a diving watch design, a year after the first ScanWatch. The ScanWatch Nova therefore takes over the functions of the ScanWatch 2 – notably temperature measurement – but without it being necessary to wait more than a year for this new version.

The Withings ScanWatch Nova will be available from this Tuesday at a price of 600 euros on the Withings website and on February 1, 2024 at other resellers. For comparison, the standard ScanWatch 2 is priced at 350 euros and the ScanWatch Horizon was offered at its launch at 500 euros.
