WKStA examines allegations – Governor Wallner in the focus of the judiciary

Things are getting tighter for Vorarlberg’s governor: the Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) is now examining the most recent allegations.

Corruption. Contestant for Word of the Year for years. Most recently, a substantial anonymous ad gave dirty spots to the clean Vorarlberg. The Causa Wirtschaftsbund employs the judiciary and politics. The governor is also in a bad game in the drawing. Advertisement brawling in the sense of the party? The “Krone” has a current document from the public prosecutor’s office in Feldkirch. A so-called assignment order, addressed to the WKStA. It says, among other things: “With regard to Magister Markus Wallner, there is a suspicion that he, as a public official, tried to demand an advantage for the dutiful performance of official business.” Paragraph 305, StGB. Acceptance of advantage. Up to two years stand on it. To put it simply: advertising brawls in the interests of the party. It’s about donations in the millions, some of which ultimately ended up with the state ÖVP. Among other things, it is about the suspicion of tax evasion. Wallner denies all allegations. Wallner’s responsibility and initial suspicions are checked by the WKStA. There have already been resignations in the affair. Wallner’s is also being demanded by the opposition. Vain. Wallner denies all allegations. Meanwhile, the ÖVP committee and anti-corruption requests continue to run happily. The opposition and the Greens also want to address the Vorarlberg cause. Jörg Leichtfried (SPÖ) and NEOS are also calling for the Court of Auditors to be strengthened. The leader should be elected by a two-thirds majority. Special tests should in future require five mandataries. There are currently 20. Approval comes from the NEOS.
