Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja bring us today the dark history of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty with a long video displaying the different characters and stakes of this universe based on that of the Three Kingdoms. The more we see, the more this new license makes you want.
An elixir threatens the peace
After showing us many minutes of gameplay, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty focuses on its scenario which promises to be quite macabre. It is recalled that the Three Kingdoms are a particularly significant part of Chinese history. We were often treated to fairly fictionalized versions as in the games Dynasty Warriors, however here the much darker tone risks being out of place for our greatest pleasure. The title also takes place at the end of the Han dynasty in 184.
From what we understand according to this video, everything would revolve around an elixir of immortality that some are trying to create such as the mysterious taoist who seems to be a leading antagonist. The Ninja team also takes advantage of the historical setting to establish illustrious figures that we can face like Lu Bu.
This sequence also allows us to observe new gameplay sequences. As expected, we will find a combat system inherited from nioh 1 & 2 (the previous Team Ninja games) with new subtleties and above all a new graphics engine that seems to hold up very well.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will be released on March 3 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC via Windows and Steam.
