Serious climbing accident on Thursday evening in Haiming in the Tyrolean district of Imst. For reasons still unknown, a 37-year-old woman fell at least five meters before she was caught by the safety rope. The athlete had to be rescued by helicopter.
The accident occurred on Thursday at around 6:30 p.m. on the Geierwand in Haiming. The 37-year-old was climbing various routes near the “Geierwandführe” with two companions (28 and 27) when the accident occurred. In any case, the 37-year-old fell five to eight meters into the rope. She suffered serious injuries. The rescue helicopter rescued the Austrian using a rope and flew her to the hospital in Zams.
